Your Bio
I am a retired professional engineer with a life-long interest in amateur photography and image processing dating back to the early 1960's with a black & white darkroom and a Nikon F SLR 35mm camera. I entered the digital era in 2001 and the digital SLR stage in 2007.
Photos are shot in RAW high resolution (>4000 px) then generally reduced to web display sizes. My current camera bodies are a Nikon D800 and a D700, which were preceded by a D300, a D200 and a D70s, and my first digital, the Leica Digilux 1.
Photos are generally processed in Lightroom 4 and Photoshop CS6, using many filters from NIK and Topaz. HDR tone-mapped images are created in Photomatix Pro. For noise reduction, NIK Dfine is used.
My prime subject for images is candid portraits, with my grandchildren my main subjects and friends and strangers also being targets for my camera's focus.
I also enjoy landscape and building photography where HDR is often employed to enhance the finished product. Another area of interest is macro photography.
